Netflix + Chill: Outfits and Shows I’m Bingeing

most comfortable loungewear sets for women.

I know I’m not the only one who has been BINGE-WATCHING show after show with all this time on our hands due to the Coronavirus. Admittedly, it’s probably TOO MUCH, but it helps to pass the time when stuck in quarantine.

And if we’re going to be Netflix and chilling so much… we might as well be comfortable while doing it!

This is my FAVORITE lounge set ever!

See What Else I’ve Been Living In Lately…

Want to know the shows we’re loving right now , too?

Siesta Key

OMG, hands down one of the best reality shows I’ve watched in a while! The drama and love triangles are crazy… and you can’t help but to watch. You can catch it on MTV.

Love is Blind

I’m sure most of you have probably already watched this on Netflix but if not, do yourself and tune in. It’s entertainment for sure.

Tiger King

Well this was quite a surprise for everyone, right? If you’re the ONE person in the world who hasn’t seen it yet, just dive in. There’s really no way to describe what you’re about to watch, so you just have to experience it for yourself!

Gossip Girl

This is my all-time binge-worthy girly show… and I’ve watched it over 47568459 times!!

Season 3 just came out on Netflix and it couldn’t be better timing! The hubby and I love Jason Bateman in everything… but this show is unlike anything he usually does. It’s suspenseful, dark, and all around great. We love it and you will too.

Real Housewives

Again, I love a good reality show and RH never fails!!! My favorites are Beverly Hills, OC, and New York!! Do you have a favorite? I’d love to know.

The Stranger

This show was actually created by one of Mike’s favorite authors, Harlan Coban. It’s on Netflix in its first season and we are loving it.

Good Girls

In its third season already, Good Girls is just a good old fashioned comedy sitcom on NBC. Always makes us laugh and totally worth catching up on.

Temptation Island

So good if you love those Bachelor franchise / love story kind of shows… and trust me, it gets juicy!

Are you watching any must-see shows that I skipped above? Let me know in the comments… I have a feeling we’ll have plenty of time to find a new favorite!

The Busy Mom’s Self-Care Guide

Practice self-care to help your body and mind relax and renew.

It’s no secret, I’m all about a healthy amount of self-care! It’s how I stay sane as a mom—and human being—and I believe it’s needed for EVERYONE! And I can’t think of a better time for a little self-care than right now with everything going on everyone being stuck inside.

I find that when I look and feel good by doing things that are great for me, I’m a much happier, energetic, and fun mom for my babies.

These are some of the ways I love to practice self-care (some daily and some weekly).

Enjoy a Cup of Coffee In the Morning (While It’s Still Hot!)

The quiet alone time in the morning before everyone else wakes up really helps me start my day off right. I’m able to clear my mind and get a happy headstart to the day!

My Coffee Maker

My Favorite Necklace

The Coziest Robe EVER!

Reading + Journaling

Another one of my favorite things about the morning time is just getting a positive word in to start my day. Putting pen to paper to get all my thoughts, prayers and to-do lists for the day out of my head is one of my favorite things! And I find that writing it down (and then crossing it off) helps to get more done and feel accomplished.

Take a Hot Bath

Light a candle, put on some music and sit back—this is such a great way to relax after a long day.

Enjoy a Pamper Session

Let’s be honest, when you look good, you feel good! That’s why I always remember to take the time to go get my nails done, do my at-home laser hair removal, groom the brows, do an extra face mask, whiten my teeth or derma plane! All of these things I love doing to help me feel my best.

IPL Treatment

Face Mask

Tinkle Razors

Facial Steamer

Teeth Whitening Strips

Get In a Workout

No matter what I make sure to get my weekly workouts in—and no matter what we have going on that week or even if I have to do them with my babies right by my side—I honestly never regret it. Working out makes me feel so much better, physically and mentally. And especially when I’m working towards a goal, you can bet I make sure to get it in!

2-5 Pound Hand Weights

Resistance Bands

Yoga Mat

Ankle Weights

Water Bottle

Listen to a Podcast

I love listening to super positive, motivational or informative podcasts to get the day started or while driving, cleaning, or on the treadmill. A few of my favorites are The Skinny Confidential Him & Her, The Tony Robbins Podcast, Dr. Josh Axe Show, & The Rise Together Podcast. I think it’s a great way to practice self-care for the mind. There are so many more, so you can find one that fits your interests or goals but here are a few links to start…

Tony Robbins’ Podcast

Organize Your Space

Finally, I love to tackle organizational projects. With all the extra time on our hands… spring cleaning to be done… now is the perfect time. Not only do I think the process itself is therapeutic but a cleaner space just helps you to feel so much better once it’s done, too! I prefer to take everything out, get rid of what I don’t need, and then organize what’s left into containers or display accordingly.

Welcome Back to All About Ashli

WOW—it’s been so long since I’ve had a blog post for you all but I’m back and, honestly? It feels GREAT to be able to share and connect with you again.

Since I took so much time off—and if you’ve continued to follow me on Instagram—I thought it was only right to share a bit about life lately, my pregnancy, and what how it’s been for me the past few months.

Plus stick around until the end of the post for a great giveaway opportunity I think you’ll love.

First off, in case you missed the news, I am PREGNANT!!

Yes! Mike and I are having a baby at the end of the year (or beginning of the new year) and we could not be more excited to be growing our family! I also announced on my IG stories that we are indeed having a baby BOY!!!!

AHHHH I still cannot believe it myself! I’m over the moon and can’t wait to meet our little guy!

I first found out I was pregnant around the first week in May. After feeling all of the “usual” pregnancy symptoms—but not wanting to get our hopes up—I followed my gut and took a pregnancy test.

The first trimester was awful… like SO awful. I was way more sick this time than I was with Ariah, with nausea so bad I couldn’t keep anything down.

It finally started to ease up around the 15-16-week mark, which is when I started feeling more like myself again, getting more energy and finally an appetite.

We decided to do an early blood test around 11 weeks so we could find out the sex of the baby sooner… and then announced to our friends and family on July 4th. Needless to say, it was a very exciting day!

Now I am at 27 weeks and feeling great! Day by day, I’m getting bigger and can feel baby boy moving constantly. If you ask me, that’s the best part about pregnancy—all of the kicks, hiccups, and movements—and I know the third trimester is going to slow me down a lot.

It’s crazy how quickly this pregnancy is going… but that’s perfectly fine with me!! The girls are SO excited to be big sisters—especially Ariah, who loves rubbing and kissing my belly. She is constantly telling people “baby brother is in mommy’s belly!” which I think is so sweet. Mackenzie is excited too but this isn’t her first big sister rodeo so she’s keeping it cool!! I can’t wait to see how they react to a little boy being around. They’re going to think he’s their little baby doll and I’m sure they’ll want to help out a lot!

While I don’t know everything to expect, I do know it’s going to be fun and interesting in the Evans household, party of FIVE!

As for an update on the rest of the family.. Ariah has finally started preschool and it’s going great. While of course it’s difficult at first (especially with your first), I think it was a good decision to put her in school to let her interact with the other kids and give this mama a break for a few hours a day! She’s learning so much there and loves her class and teachers!

Football season is in full effect and we’re getting ready to go to London next week to play the Carolina Panthers as part of the NFL’s International Series Games. It should be a fun trip, so I plan on doing a blog post all about it when I get back. GO BUCS!

And now for the surprise!

Since it’s been a while I wanted to host a giveaway for everyone who continues to show love and support for my family and I through it all.

I hosted one a couple of weeks ago on my IG page for Bucs fans to win tickets to a home game… but now on my blog, I plan to do more giveaways that are perfect for everyone!!

So today’s giveaway is to win an Amazon gift card for $300and there will be THREE WINNERS total! I will NOT publicly announce your name, so you will get an email/or DM from me that you have WON on Sunday 10/6!

To Enter You MUST Do All 4 Steps For a Chance to WIN:

10 Ways I Use Coconut Oil In My Life

Coconut Oil Is One of the All-Time Natural Best Beauty Secrets

We’ve touched on this in my beauty tips before, but today I’m showing you ALL the ways I use coconut oil.

To me, it feels like one of those super secret weapons that everyone should know about. I keep jars of coconut throughout my house—bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen—because I use it for so many different applications.

My Favorite Coconut Oil Is THIS!

Coconut oil is perfect for moisturizing the body from head to toe.

I can’t live without it… and I bet after reading this, you won’t be able to either:

I use the spray or the coconut oil straight from the jar, it just depends on what I’m making. It’s 100% better than butter or other cooking oils for sauteeing. But just remember that coconut oil doesn’t have a high smoke point, so it shouldn’t be used for frying or other high heat cooking. (Check out avocado oil for that!)

Body Nourishment

I use this daily (after I shower) to keep my skin moisturized and soft. I prefer this over any kind of lotion any day.

Shaving Cream

Using coconut oil for shaving cream?? It’s perfect because it allows the razor to easily glide but makes your skin extremely soft after. I just keep a jar in the shower for when I’m shaving and it lasts forever! You can thank me later!

Hair Mask

I wash my hair about once a week and before I do I drown my hair in coconut oil. I don’t get too crazy with the scalp bc I don’t want my hair to get greasy but I lather the ends up and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then I rinse it out in the shower and it’s sleek and shiny for the next week to come!

Styling the Girls’ Hair

Coconut oil is the ONLY way I can usually get a brush through Ariah and Mackenzie’s hair… and trust me, I’ll take all the help I can get to avoid the “tangle tears”. And since they’re so young, I try to keep their products as natural as possible—insert COCONUT OIL!

Eye Makeup Remover

I love using this for a makeup remover because it’s way less harsh on my eyes and ends up making my eyelashes really soft. I get a cotton pad and put water and coconut oil on it and just like that brush it over my eyes. So much better than some of the remover wipes I’ve tried over the years that leave my skin feeling dry.

Lip Balm

It’s the simplest, most natural form of chapstick/ lip balm… and I love it. It keeps my lips hydrated with just the smallest amount.

Preventing Stretch Marks

Hands down, I 100% swear by coconut oil or vitamin e oil for preventing any stretch marks. It was the only thing I used while pregnant and I do not have not one stretch mark!!

Lip + Body Scrubs

You know I’m all about natural as much as possible, so that’s why I make my own sugar scrubs, too. One for my lips and one separately for my body that I keep in the shower. I LOVE the way it smells and it’s great knowing that what I’m putting on my body is safe.

Recipe: brown sugar, coconut oil, and honey. Put in a bowl and mix all together to get the consistency that works best for you! Simple and effective!

Facial Moisturizer (For That Dewy Highlighter Look)

I do like to apply coconut oil to my face from time to time for that super dewy-hydrated makeup look!!! It’s my fave and the coconut oil just gives you that natural highlight in all the right areas.

What do YOU use coconut oil for? I’d love to learn some new tricks, so let me know in the comments!

WAG Life: 10 Things I’ve Learned Over Time

Whew… where do I start, right?

Not only has this been a post I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but it’s something many people have asked me about in the past. “What’s it like being the wife of a professional athlete?” “Is it as amazing as it seems?”

The short answer: Yes… and no.

With football season just around the corner again- see how fast that was?– I decided NOW was the time to dish the details. For anyone new here… or just for those that want to learn more about what it’s ACTUALLY like be married to a professional athlete… this is the post to read!

Now, remember, everything I’m going to say is all my opinion and based on MY experience as a WAG. Others may have had other experiences- both good and bad- but I feel like a lot of us out there can relate, so I want to spread the word to help people understand this crazy life we live!

Mike got drafted back in 2014 to the Tampa Bay Bucs and we have been with them ever since. I say WE because we are a family- and the Bucs are our family, as well. He willl be going on his 5th season this year and I still can’t believe how fast time has flown by! Every time we talk about it I swear it feels like just yesterday we started this journey because every day, every season, every off-season seems to fly by! Maybe that’s just how it feels being an adult, right? HA!

Well here goes…

10 Things I’ve learned From Being a WAG:

FIRST AND FOREMOST- AND WITHOUT HESITATION! To be honest, we already knew this but as the years have gone by and the more I go through life’s ups and downs, I’m continuously reminded that God is everything. Everything we’ve been so blessed to have- beautiful children, a beautiful home, our health, everything– is all thanks to HIM. And I always keep that in mind.

He brings good people into your life for a reason and brings others in as life lessons, too (which we all need if you ask me). I really do believe that having a relationship with God will get you through anything.

How to Become an Expert Packer

Being a part of the NFL you know one thing for sure: you’re never in one place for very long. Whether you’re being traded, moving away for the off-season, headed to training, hitting the road for away games or enjoying the occasional vacation, you quickly learn to master the art of packing.

So far, we’ve lived in three different places just in Tampa and thankfully, we just bought our first home in Texas during the off-season. When it comes to moving know-how, I’m your girl because I’ve got it down pretty good at this point. That’s not to say I do it stress free, of course, but I do know how to get the job done right at this point!

You Have to Be (+ Stay) Strong Because YOU Are the One Keeping Everyone- And Everything- Together!

In the “WAG” world you have to stay strong through it all- especially through training camp and the season when you start to feel lonely (and it’s extra hard if you’re a new WAG or going to a new team!)

Being strong for your family is so important because it’s a stressful time for everyone and I’ve learned that during this time I have to be the support system so Mike can focus on his job: training, putting his body on the line, and grinding it out for us each and every day(especially in the FL heat) for us to have this blessed life.  If he can do that for us, then the least I can do is make the most of it, be strong, take care of our family, and embrace the craziness that is a football life.

You Need Other WAG Friends

No one understands this life more than other ladies going through the same thing, right? It’s so nice to relate to other women that understand that there’s more to this life than meets the eye and I think it’s good to build those relationships up… especially when you don’t see your other friends and family throughout the season. No matter what you do in life, find your group of friends that “get it”… and hold on tight!

Make the Most of the Off-Season Together

Ahhhh, off season! When it’s finally time to pack up and go back home for a few months to spend time with friends and family make sure you make the most of it! Get that quality time with your man… go on vacations… eat delicious food together… enjoy a night of “doing nothing!”

And the best part if you ask me, is they get to help out with the kiddos instead of it all falling on your shoulders. This is the time to enjoy life because it’s such a short amount of time until it’s right back to work!!

You Have To Be Thinking of “What’s Next?” After Football

We all know football doesn’t last forever, right? In fact, it’s such a short amount of time in our lives… and it could be over tomorrow. It’s always best to start making plans for when football is over because you just never know when, so we’re constantly coming up with ideas and plans for the future that we can hopefully pass down to our kids one day.

But like I said, when we believe in God and HIS plans for us, we gain the strength to grow and learn like we need to.

Nothing Ever Goes As Planned

To be honest, I’m still getting used to this but I have pretty much embraced it at this point… NOTHING ever goes as planned.

I LOVE a good routine… I live for structure… and planning out my days to know exactly what I need to do is my jam BUT things come up unexpectedly alllll the time so you just learn to deal. Even when you’re doing it all with a toddler- who thrives off a routine, too- you still just have to roll with the punches and go with it. This is our reality and it’s best to make the most of all the craziness!

Take Care of Yourself

This is important for everyone but especially to all the moms out there that never get a break, it’s sooo important to take some time for yourself every now and then. Whether it’s once a month or a couple times a week, in my opinion, I know I’m at my best when I have a little time for me.

This can mean taking a hot bubble bath, using a mask, reading after putting the baby down or a day at the spa pampering yourself. It’s so important to make sure you feel good because in the end you being happy will set the tone for everyone else in the family, too.

Seriously, #SelfCareit’s a real thing!

Make Your Relationship a Priority

Now that you’re on board for taking care of yourself, it’s time to focus on another important person: YOUR SPOUSE… or more accurately, your relationship.

Mike and I have learned how to make time for each other outside of football, kids and “life” so that we maintain our healthy relationship, love and friendship despite his schedule. Remember, you fell in love for a reason… but it absolutely takes work to keep that connection strong!

Take Injuries Seriously

Like I said earlier, you never know when a football career can be over- and nothing cuts it short quicker than a terrible injury. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always have to be an obvious break or tear for it to make a lasting impact. Strains and sprains can be serious too and ignoring them can lead to trouble down the road. That’s why Mike takes his training, strengthening, stretching and practicing so seriously so that he can ensure he’s taking every precaution to keep his body safe.

So there you have the glamorous… and not-so-glamorous… side of being a WAG. I hope this gives you a better look at our lives and that we’re all just normal people trying to make a life for our families, too!
